The Evolution of The Safehouse: From legendary studio, The Facility
The Safehouse location has been the heartbeat of SWFL's music scene for years. It's journey to becoming a premier destination for creating music is one of continued transformation, dedication, and community impact. Let’s explore how The Safehouse came to be, its role in the local scene, and how it continues to shape the future of music in SWFL.
The Facility Era (2015-2023)
Before it was The Safehouse, our location was well known as The Facility. It would quickly gain a great reputation as a creative hub for the local music scene in its early years. The Facility was originally based in Naples, FL and founded by music producer Capi in 2013. The high end quality of music produced would go on to attract musical talents of all sorts from surrounding areas and beyond. Artists would increasingly gather to record, collaborate, and hone their craft after its relocation to Fort Myers in 2015. Capi would go on to win a latin-grammy in 2016 from his work on J Balvin's "Energia". This would ignite an even greater buzz for both Capi and The Facility. Working more heavily with label artists and producers, Capi would eventually become multi-platinum certified as well. Within the studios course, Capi developed an elite team of professional audio engineers he could rely on to operate studio sessions. The Facility team has proudly membered Xay (future latin grammy-winner), DJ Promo, Eddy Rock, and Mar Lovace throughout its duration maintaining the standard Capi strived for in industry excellence.
The Safehouse Transformation (2023- )
After almost a decade of music greatness and history from The Facility, Capi was ready to start a new chapter. DJ Promo would go on to takeover and rebrand The Facility as The Safehouse in October of 2023. The new name reflects both security and creativity—a safe space where artists can let their guard down and focus entirely on their music. Promo was a highly booked in-house engineer at The Facility under Capi's mentorship from 2016 all the way to it's change of ownership. With industry experience and a great reputation for quality, Promo’s vision is to continue catering not only local talent but established artists in the industry as well. Providing a professional yet comfortable environment for creating with high standards.
